Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information FPL Companion — a Paragon Design product ("FPL Companion", "we", "us") collects when you use fplcompanion.app, why we collect it, and what your rights are. FPL Companion is a UK-based, independent Fantasy Premier League companion tool. Full legal and business information is set out in the Business information section near the bottom of this page.

The information we collect

Email address.Collected when you unlock the free GW Briefing. This is the anchor for your account record (an "app user") - everything else below is linked to it.

FPL Team ID and team/manager name.Optional. If you link your FPL Team ID (either one we already know from My Team, or one you enter yourself), we store the ID and the team/manager name FPL's own public API returns for it, scoped to the current season, so we can personalise the GW Briefing and Mini-League Cheat Sheet to your team. FPL reassigns Team IDs each season, so this link is never carried forward automatically.

Mini-League and rival data. If you use the Mini-League Cheat Sheet, we fetch your league standings and, for a small number of your closest rivals only (never every manager in a large league), their public FPL squad picks and chip-usage history - directly from the official Fantasy Premier League public API, in real time. This data is not written to our database; it is fetched fresh for each visit and only briefly cached for performance.

Payment information. If you purchase FPL Companion Premium (the 2026/27 Season Pass), your payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details. We store a Stripe Customer reference and a record that your purchase was successful, so we can grant and verify your access.

Marketing consent. If you tick the optional "send me occasional FPL Companion news and tips" checkbox, we record that choice (and any later change to it) together with a timestamp and a reference to the version of this policy in force at the time, so we have a clear record of what you agreed to and when.

Technical and session information. We use two functional cookies: one that proves you have unlocked the free GW Briefing (so you are not asked for your email on every visit), and, only for our own internal editorial team, a short-lived sign-in session cookie for the private content editor. Neither cookie is used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We also generate a random, non-identifying id stored in your browser's local storage, used only to connect your activity before and after you unlock the Briefing (for example, knowing that someone who viewed the locked page later unlocked it) - this id is never linked to advertising networks or shared with third parties.

Basic product-usage events. We record a small, fixed set of events (for example, "Briefing unlocked" or "source link clicked") to understand how the product is used. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking service - there is currently no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar software anywhere in FPL Companion.

Standard hosting logs. Like virtually any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes standard technical request information (such as IP address and browser type) as part of operating the service securely. We do not access this for marketing purposes.

Why we process this information

To provide the free and Premium features you use; to remember that you have unlocked the free Briefing or purchased a Season Pass; to personalise the GW Briefing and Mini-League Cheat Sheet to your own team; to process your payment and grant access via Stripe; to send you marketing updates only if you have opted in, and to understand, in aggregate, how the product is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run FPL Companion, each acting as our processor: Supabase (our database, hosted in the UK - AWS London), Vercel (our application hosting), and Stripe (payment processing for Premium purchases). We also call the official Fantasy Premier League public APIto fetch football data (including your Team ID, when supplied, and your Mini-League's standings) - we do not send your email address or any other personal information to Fantasy Premier League as part of this. Where any of these providers processes information outside the UK, they do so under their own published safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses); see each provider's own privacy policy for details. We do not otherwise share your information with third parties, and we have never sold personal information.

How long we keep it, and deletion

We keep your account information for as long as you have an active FPL Companion account. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete your email address, any linked FPL Team ID(s), and your entitlement records. A small amount of already-recorded product-usage and consent history is kept in de-identified form (with the link to your account removed) for basic record-keeping and aggregate statistics, rather than being deleted outright - this never includes your email or any other directly identifying detail once removed. There is not yet a self-service "delete my account" button in the product itself; to request deletion, contact us using the details below.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service (listed above) - we do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so we do not show a cookie-consent banner. If that ever changes, this policy and the site's behaviour will be updated accordingly.

Your rights

If you are in the UK (or the EU), you have rights under data protection law including the right to access the information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, and to withdraw marketing consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@fplcompanion.app. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

FPL Companion is not directed at, and is not knowingly used to collect information from, children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. If we make a material change, we will update the "last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, let existing users know.
